Through his consulting practice, MARK ONE Sports & Entertainment, Mark provides comprehensive sports and entertainment thought leadership. He has extensive expertise in higher education, marketing and branding, sports technology and fan engagement. In Mark’s course at UCLA Anderson, students are exposed to major topics in the global sports industry including Marketing, Sports Law, Management, Sponsorship, Sports Ethics, Licensing, Media & Broadcasting, Labor Relations, Sports Finance, Stadiums, Agencies, and Social Media. For Summer 2019, Mark will support the development of the UCLA Anderson and Athleta-Ed Introduction to Business of Sports course, which will use authentic sports-business related cases content for the traditional intro to business courses.

Mark began his professional career as an educator and high performance hockey coach at the collegiate and high school levels in Canada. He advanced both as an educator and coach throughout the early part of his career and found his passion for the business of sports while completing his MBA. Over the past decade, Mark has developed networks at the highest levels throughout the professional sports industry in the United States, Canada and internationally as well. Mark has led the Sports Business program at the UCLA Anderson Center for Media, Entertainment & Sports since 2011. His very popular course has had prominent guest lecturers including DeMaurice Smith (Executive Director, NFLPA), Leigh Steinberg (first super agent), Luc Robitaille (President, LA Kings), Ned Colletti (Former GM, Dodgers and Cubs) , Charles Baker (Co-Chair, Sports Industry Group at O’Melveny & Myers) and Akshay Khanna (Head of Partnerships – NFL, NBA and NHL, StubHub)
